RESEARCH ON NEW TANNING METHODS AND AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS
NORSK FJORDSKINN has established a tanning laboratory in Trondheim, Norway. In cooperation with the University of Trondheim (NTNU), we have developed new solutions for tanning of fish leather.
Tanning agents based on circular economy contributes to environmentally friendly processes. Automation and sensor technology will also be developed to control consumption of chemicals and product quality. This will further reduce waste and energy consumption.
We are expecting a surging demand for sustainable products and that sustainable fish leather will further increase its market value.
Our main market segments are fashion, design, furniture, interior, accessories and other products where the attractive aesthetic and functional properties of fish leather can be utilised.
