Environmentally friendly and sustainable production
OUR SUSTAINABILITY
OUR FISH LEATHER IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND SUSTAINABLE
Our fish leather is sourced from fish that is part of food production. Hence, it is incorporated in a circular economy as a leftover product from marine food production which has already a low climate footprint.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL ENGAGEMENT
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TANNING
Traditional industrial tanning is harmful to health of people and environment by emission of toxic chemicals We are expecting more strict requirements to the industry and our alternative tanning processes are well positioned to fulfill current and future requirements by use of feedstock and tanning agents that are part of a natural environment.
Our technology opens for high quality fish leather that is not harmful for people and environment. Quality and productivity will be ensured through automation and use of sensor technology at several steps of the production process.

ERICA (European Respiratory of the Industry's Collective Agreements) has reported the environmental challenges for the tanning industry and the potential for technical improvements. Current consumption of chemicals is on average 2,15 kg chemicals per square meter produced leather. The demand for leather not prepared with harmful chemicals is increasing.
FOOTPRINT OF THE TANNING INDUSTRY
Our recipe for tanning of fish leather is to a large extent based on circular economy where leftover products from wood processing industry and food processing industry is utilised in our tanning agents.
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
Vi are developing our technology to improve sustainability of the production and avoid the use of toxic or polluting tanning agents.
We have included the UN sustainability goals in our strategy, including:
Sustainability goal no. 3:
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Sustainability goal no. 6:
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
Sustainability goal no.12:
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Sustainability goal no.13:
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Sustainability goal no.14:
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
Sustainability goal no.17:
Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development
